Flamerise is the westernmost island in the Tusk Enclave. The adamantine curtain wall around the island starts at the water’s edge and rises at a 45 degree angle to a height of 50 feet. The wall is buttressed and reinforced to make it incredible durable. No entrance to the island has ever been found. The only way on or off of the island has been the network of booms and chains that extend from the tower itself.
For thousands of years the Basilisk Knights have used the tower at Flamerise as the seat of their power. The reason for this is the Tesseract artifact, which they have used to better understand the Progenitors remnants scattered throughout the protectorate. The tower at Flamerise houses libraries of ancient texts, forges, weapon stores, and barracks for 500. The outer yard is protected by trebuchets, with balistas and scorpions that are easily deployed on multiple floors. The food stores are supplemented by a dining hall filled with Captain’s Tables.
Flamerise withstood a nine-year siege at the hands of the undead army. Archers, siege engines, magical bombardment and eventually plague jars battered the island. Those who succumbed to the illness were burned in a pyre, however the illness spread too fast, and the dead rose to combat the living. The undead attacked the wall with siege ladders and eventually overran the defenders.
