The Orrery is another mechanical remnant of the Progenitors. The scholars suspect that it is a map of the Heavenly Spheres, and can be used to calculate auspicious events. The Orrery is situated atop a 5 story tower. Surrounding the tower are two curtain walls. The Inner Wall has 2 guard towers situated at the northernmost and southernmost points. The Outer Wall has 4 guard towers seated at Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, and Southeast.
The Orrery itself is a multi-ringed mechanical construct that draws it’s power from an unknown source. There are twelve rings, each with a sphere afixed at one point. Smaller spheres circle some of the larger ones and the rings spin around a central axis at different speeds. The lower levels of the tower have been turned into living space for the Basilisk scholars and guards.
It is unknown how the undead managed to infiltrate the Orrery, though many believe that one of the guards may have been enthralled by the undead. The breach happened quietly, with few of the Basilisk Knights escaping. Once occupied by the undead army, a number of mystically-talented undead were sighted entering the tower by Basilisk scouts.
